St. Nicholas Day’s Sinfonietta

During the Kids in Kraków workshop (10.00–11.00am) in the foyer of the ICE Kraków Congress Centre, children will be able to make Christmas decorations: stars, puppets, baubles, reindeer, angels, as well as put together a large-format puzzle or test their skills on a large obstacle course.

In the musical part, the Sinfonietta’s concert will feature carols, pastorals, music in a winter mood (including an excerpt from Vivaldi’s ‘Four Seasons’), and a meeting with Santa and his elf helpers. The concert will be facilitated by Madame Sinfonietta (with Danuta Augustyn unrivalled in this role) who will successfully and actively involve the entire audience through animations and musical games.

Additional attractions include jugglers dressed as elves dancing among the audience and Santa giving out healthy treats to the children.

The Sinfonietta is a cycle of meetings with music addressed to the youngest audience, organised by Sinfonietta Cracovia. Each meeting develops children’s passion for music and foster patterns of participation in and contribution to culture. The meetings combine the concert formula with games to develop listening and musical sensitivity.
