Kraków5020 partnering with the Computer Game Designing Marathon

ABOUT THE HACKATHON

Computer game creation marathons commonly known as hackathons have been successfully organised for students for years and enjoy great popularity. They are not only fun but also the true school of programming, creativity and teamwork. Come and play with us – it’s going to be a lucky seven… the 7th edition! See you at the WSEI CAMPUS IN KRAKOW on 31.03–1.04.2023.

The event organised by the College of Economics and Computer Science in Krakow is a competition during which the teams are to design computer games in 24 hours. During this year’s edition, participants will work on creating games (on a topic set on the day of the event), which will then be judged by a strict but fair panel of jurors. One of the jurors will be Piotr Krochmal, the Implementation and Technological Development Director of the municipal company Kraków 5020, privately a fan of video games.

To ensure that all participants have a level playing field, every student entered in the competition receives special and free training in computer game designing. Skills acquired during the workshop allow the students to spread their wings in programming, open up their creativity and get prepared for work in a team! This year, we will see 150 high school students from the Małopolskie, Śląskie and Podkarpackie voivodeships.

• Supporting talented students in developing and expanding their passion for IT, creativity and innovative ideas
• Encouraging schools to develop young people’s interests and talents
• Promoting knowledge related to game designing, computer graphics and animation
• networking, meeting representatives of the world of games and graphics – cooperation with the best from the GameDev industry!
