Paula Fanderowska, Vice-President of the Management Board of Kraków5020, has become President of the Conferences and Congresses in Poland Association for the third time. The election of the new board took place in Gdynia at the Gala of Ambassadors of Polish Congresses organised by the Polish Tourist Association, Poland Convention Bureau, Conferences and Congresses in Poland Association and the City of Gdynia.
The Conferences and Congresses in Poland Association was established in 1998 as the way of consolidating the interaction of communities interested in the development of business tourism. It is the first in history and the only all-Polish representation of the meetings industry professionals. Main goals of the organisation included enhancing members’ own professional knowledge, joint marketing and lobbying on issues relevant to the business tourism industry. The organisation participates in all the key activities initiated in Poland and related to business tourism as an industry partner and a kind of chamber of commerce.
At the Gala of Ambassadors of Polish Congresses, statuettes were handed out and titles of ambassadors of Polish congressed were bestowed on 30 winners from years 2020 and 2021. Four Patrons of Polish Congresses, i.e. entities other than individuals supporting organised events (congresses, conferences, seminars) were also celebrated.
The ambassador program is 25 years’ old already. In total, the title of the Ambassador of Polish Congresses was given to 300 people and 11 Patrons of Polish Congresses were also chosen. The ambassador program is a mechanism in place around the world for engaging prominent people, respected in professional circles, to promote a country as a place to organise international events, congresses and conferences.
Titles are bestowed by the program’s chapter consisting of prominent personalities of the Polish science, economy and culture led by Professor Dr Eng. Marek Pawełczyk, Vice Chancellor for Science and Development of the Silesian University of Technology.
