Visit Santa’s workshop in ICE Krakow!

ICE Krakow Congress Centre

10.00am–4.00pm, 17 December 2022

Would you like to peek into Santa’s workshop and see how the wonders we find under the Christmas tree are created? Christmas is that magical time of the year when everything is possible!

Just before Christmas, i.e. from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm on 17 December, there will be a unique opportunity in ICE Krakow to play the role of one of Santa’s helpers, who create miracles out of wood, yarn, fabric or comb foundation! The Gift Factory is an event addressed to children and families, organised as part of the Kids in Krakow project on the occasion of Christmas. During a series of workshops, the young ones will make their own Christmas presents. There will also be no shortage of opportunities to search for, discover and consolidating local traditions, as well as broadening the knowledge of the culture of the local area. Tickets are required for each workshop: PLN 10 per person (child). Tickets will be available from kbfbilety.krakow.pl from noon on 6 December 2022.

What is on the agenda?

Christmas magic – Christmas wreaths

at 10.30 am and 12.30 pm

During the workshop, the youngest children will create Christmas garlands under the guidance of an instructor. At the beginning of the class, the children will be introduced to the plant material and then to the technique of making wreaths. Facilitation: Just in Nature – Children’s Workshops – Little Gardeners
Age: 4+

Holidays, holidays (useful waste)
at 10.00am, 12.00pm and 2.00pm

In the run-up to Christmas we are inundated with millions of offers of tacky Christmas tree decorations. Was it really a tradition to have ‘tons’ of plastic on our Christmas trees? During the workshop, children will learn about Christmas traditions, how to make environment-friendly Christmas decorations, how to make decorations of old objects and what upcycling is.

Facilitation: Eko-Chatka
Age: 3-10 years

Natural candles
at 10.30am, 12.30pm, 14.30pm
During the workshop, each child will make a comb foundation candle (wrapped), wrap it and decorate it using their creativity. A beautifully wrapped gift for oneself or for a loved one will be taken home.
Facilitation: Beekeeper Academy
Age: 4-10 years

Macrame Christmas tree decorations
at 10.00am, 12.00pm and 2.00pm
Simple and striking cotton string ornaments using cinnamon sticks, aniseed stars and wood.
Facilitation: Fabryka Ekodzieła
Age: 7-10 years

Photography of fleeting moments
at 11.00am
During the workshop, children will create beautiful wooden cameras. They can be used to capture not only festive moments but also to preserve memories and emotions. The pictures taken with the cameras will only exist for a fraction of a second, but the memories captured will remain for a long time in the space of a child’s imagination.

Facilitation: Beata Kwiecińska and Maciej Dąbrowski – authors of INSPIRO
Age: 5-8 years
